What’s your role at Electrify and how does it connect to helping creators grow?
I’m the Lead Editor for the Mentour Now channel, the little sister channel to Mentour Pilot, but with just as much personality. When I joined, the channel was just taking off (pun absolutely intended), so I had the chance to help shape its style from the ground up and then evolve it as my skills and the channel both grew.
My job is all about crafting content that feels sharp, trustworthy, and engaging, all within tight deadlines, high accuracy, and quick turnarounds… no pressure at all.
I also edit brand integrations across all Mentour channels, which I really like!! It’s a fun challenge to keep sponsor messages feeling authentic and aligned with the creator’s voice and work with the brands.
What first drew you to working with content creators?
My background is in multimedia journalism, but a few years ago I pivoted into the creator world because, honestly, YouTube felt like the future ...and the future looked a lot more fun. The platform is full of energy, fresh ideas, and people who experiment with storytelling in ways traditional media wouldn’t dare (most of the time).
I love bringing my journalistic background into a space that moves fast, embraces creativity, and has me working with creative geniuses vibing on the same frequency. It’s dynamic, unpredictable, occasionally ruled by mysterious algorithms… and I love it.
How would you describe Electrify to someone who’s never heard of it?
A growing family of creative people making inspiring, educational, and entertaining content, the kind that’s shaping what modern online storytelling looks like. We create mostly YouTube focused videos (with plenty of love for other platforms too), and everyone here brings their diverse background, curiosity, and passion into the mix. In short, it’s a bunch of talented people building cool things together!
What’s one piece of advice you’d give to someone wanting to work in the creator economy?
I’d say, always put the audience first. Make content that’s entertaining but also leaves a mark, something that can inspire or create positive change. Try to have a mix of skills in media, because the more you can do, the more you’ll actually enjoy it! Share what you know with others, too, it makes the ride way more fun. Oh, and get used to moving fast. Deadlines are sneaky little things… coffee helps.
